Cherry Creek Schools on Delayed Start Thursday, Jan. 6On Thursday, January 6, the Cherry Creek School District will be on a delayed start. With current staffing shortages due to COVID and the potential for bad weather and extremely cold temperatures, we are taking the precautionary measure to call a delayed start.
Our hope is to give families more time to prepare and ensure that students are not waiting at bus stops at the coldest part of the morning. While the district has been dealing with staff and substitute shortages since the start of the pandemic, tomorrow’s potential bad weather could exacerbate the situation.
The delayed start is for all students, including online students. Elementary and morning preschool bus pick-up and school start times are delayed 60 minutes. High school and middle school bus pick-up and school start times are delayed 90 minutes. Before-school child care will operate on a normal schedule.
