TEACHER APPRECIATION DONATIONS NEEDED:
Teachers at Buffalo Trail give their best each and every day for our children and now it is time to say THANK YOU! Buffalo Trail’s Teacher Appreciation Event is on Friday, May 8, 2016.This event is organized by the Buffalo Trail Parent Teacher Community Organization (PTCO) in order to recognize and thank our teachers for all of their hard work and dedication during the school year. The PTCO hosts a breakfast and auction where teachers can spend the “Speidicents”
(named for our principal, Tamara Speidel) they have earned over the course of the school year. Our deadline passed for Teacher Appreciation items and we did not have enough items received for even half of our teachers. We have extended the deadline to donate to May 5th. Please consider donating if you are able!

LAST CALL FOR EARNING 4 LEARNING AND BOX TOPS!
If you have Box Tops for Education or Earning for Learning receipts, please turn them in by April 30th. These programs are great because they help our school earn money by simply collecting receipts and box tops from things you already buy. We are currently sitting in second place in Southlands’ E4L program. Your receipts can help us win!
NEW COMPUTERS FOR OUR STUDENTS-- THANKYOU!
Buffalo Trail has recently purchased 10 new computers for our school computer lab! Your generosity made it possible! Thank you for supporting the Buffalo Trail Fun Run and our school! We are so excited to give our students access to excellent technology and thank you again for your support.
BTPTCO BOARD POSITIONS OPEN!
Buffalo Trail PTCO has the following Executive Board Officer Positions vacant for the 2016-2017 school year: President, Treasurer, and Fundraising Coordinator. Election for these positions will be at our next General Meeting on May 10th. Currently, we have one candidate for President and the Fundraising Coordinator. There is no candidate at this time for the Treasurer. Please contact a current board member if you are interested in any of these Officer Positions. We also encourage you to preview the Officers Duties on our website www.btptco.org and/or the PTCO board across from the nurses station. And as always, contact can be made at firstname.lastname@example.org, we look forward to your inquiries.
Please join us for our general PTCO meeting on May 10th at 6:30pm. We will be holding elections for board positions that night. This is our last PTCO general meeting of the year! Child care is provided.
DESTINATION IMAGINATION TEAM FUNDRAISER
The R-3 K-E team will be representing Buffalo Trail and Colorado at the global finals! Congratulations to: Kara McCormick (5), Kyle McCormick (3), Ryan Harnsberger (5), Kylie Schoer (5), Erik Person (4) and Team manager Tammy Harnsberger. Our spring event will be a movie night on May 20th! Viewing the movie will be free for anyone in the community who would like to attend. Wristbands can be purchased to participate in inflatables: hamster balls, giant slide, and obstacle course. Food will also be available for purchase. We hope you can join us for a fun evening!
