EARNING FOR LEARNING UPDATE
We are also still collecting receipts from retailers at Southlands to earn points for our school. You can holiday shop and help our school at the same time! Receipts for photos with Santa, ice skating, and Southlands gift cards also get BT 1,000 points. Just send your receipts to school. Thank you to those who attended the tree lighting and earned Buffalo Trail 1,000 points!


NOTHING BUNDT CAKES FUNDRAISER
Buffalo Trail is partnering with Nothing Bundt Cakes in Southlands for a fundraiser! If you order a cake between December 7th-11th and mention you are from Buffalo Trail, they will donate a portion of the proceeds to our school.  You can also order during that time and pick up later to get our school credit for the sale.  Bundt cakes make great holiday party desserts or gifts!

BARNES AND NOBLE
/McALLISTER’S NIGHT
December 17th will be our Barnes and Noble and McAllister’s Deli night at Southlands.  The choir will be caroling and teachers will be reading at Barnes and Noble. Both businesses will donate a portion of sales to our school. Come do some holiday shopping, eat, and support our school!

The yearbook committee wants your photos! If you took pictures at a field trip, the BT fun run, fall festival or other school functions, please send them to yearbook@btptco.org.

EARNING FOR LEARNING UPDATE
If you are planning to attend the Southlands Hometown Holiday Parade on November 21st at 6 pm, please sign in at the YMCA booth to earn 1.000 points for Buffalo Trail.  We are also still collecting receipts from retailers at Southlands to earn points for our school. You can holiday shop and help our school at the same time! Receipts for photos with Santa and ice skating also get BT 1,000 points along with buying a Southlands gift card. BOOK FAIR THANK YOUS!!


Thank you to Devony Wilson and Tiffany Mo for running our book fair this year.  They spent many hours getting the fair up and running.  We appreciate their time and effort in making our book fair a success.  A big thank you to those who helped at the fair: Jessica Bland, Lauren Stavenger, Claudia Melgoza, Kristen Howden, Mimi Townsend, Shana Barela, Marie Vincent, Aiesha Morris, Melanie McIlroy, Nicole Harmon, and Belinda Gumpenberger. And thank you to those who provided food for the teacher preview: Paige Lewis, Jackie Avergel, Jessica Bland, Lauren Stavenger, and Tina Parmelee. We are so grateful for so many wonderful volunteers and for those who came to buy books and support our school!

JIM N' NICK'S DINNER
During parent teacher conference week, we are taking preorders for Jim N' Nick's dinner.  All orders need to be in by tomorrow, TUESDAY, November 10th.  You can pick up your pre-ordered meal on November 12th at the school in room 405. Jim N' Nick's will donate a portion of sales back to our school.  Your purchase will also help provide dinner for our hard working teachers. If you would prefer to donate directly to the teachers dinner, you can send a check made out to PTCO to the office with Jim N Nick’s Teacher Dinner written on it, any amount is appreciated.  Please see the attached flyer for more information.

BOOK FAIR VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!
The Book Fair will be at Buffalo Trail the week of November 9-12th. Please stop by and check it out!  We need volunteers to help run the book fair.  We REALLY need volunteers for Wednesday and Thursday evening. You will receive a 5$ book fair gift certificate when you work at the book fair on any shift.  Please sign up on the link below.

PTCO MEETING TUESDAY:
All classroom representatives should plan on attending the PTCO meeting coming up November 10th at 6:30 pm.  Anyone else who would like to attend is welcome. Tom Cox, the Buckley Air Force Base School Liaison Officer will be our guest speaker.  He will be talking about military kids and how to help them find their place as they move often to different schools. We will also be discussing upcoming school events and allocation of funds.  Babysitting is provided. If you'd like to be your teachers representative, just sign up on the link below.

EARNING FOR LEARNING THANK YOUS
Thank you Buffalo Trail Community! We collected over 500 cans for the Aurora Share Project which benefits families in need in our local area.  Kudos to the following Buffalo Trail parents and students who helped deliver, sort and stack canned goods over fall break: Liza and Allison Hershman, Natalie and Jessica Bland, and Daniel Morris. Extra kudos to Allison Hershman for her continued coordination of the E4L Program.  She reports that Buffalo Trail will receive 100 points for each can that was donated for this Southlands Mall program. Way to go Buffaloes!

MORE BOOK FAIR INFORMATION
During the book fair, we are holding a create-a-monster contest! A winning monster will be chosen from each grade and the winners will each receive a monster book! Be creative and use empty bottles, paper towel tubes, and anything else you find in your recycle bin to make a fun and colorful monster! Please do not submit violent or gory monsters as we are unable to display them. Please limit your 3d monster to 12x12x12 so we can accommodate them all. Please bring your monster to the library clearly labeled with your name, grade and teacher by Friday, November 6th. Winners will be chosen Monday, November 9th. Come check out all of the monster creations next week at our Scholastic Book Fair. Thank you for supporting our school!
