News From the Herd--September 28th, 2015
CANDY DRIVE and FALL FESTIVAL
This year’s fall festival is scheduled for October 9th. Be sure to buy your presale tickets by October 2nd. We are collecting candy donations through October 2nd for use at the Fall Festival. The class who turns in the most candy by October 2nd will earn a popcorn party! We also need volunteers to make this fun event happen. Please click on the link below to sign up to help!

FUNDRAISER DAYS
Take a break from the kitchen and come out to support Buffalo Trail by eating at Chik-Fil-A either Monday and Tuesday this week ALL DAY. Just let them know you are supporting Buffalo Trail when you order!
BUFFALO TRAIL FUN RUN UPDATE
The Fun Run was a HUGE success, thank you for all of your support. A great big thank you to Christy Lowder for her work in making this event possible! We raised a total of $25,074.66 for our school!! The top three classes were: Mrs. Bowen’s second grade, Mrs. Hartline’s PM Kindergarten, and Mrs. Jones fourth grade. Congratulations!
Our top student fundraisers and bike winners were: Addison Marziano--2nd grader, Penny Meueller--PM Kindi, and Maxsim Brodie--4 grader Congratulations and thank you for making it possible to buy new computers for our school!!
Positions Filled:
There will be a special general PTCO meeting to vote in our new Treasurer on September 29th from 3:45-4:00pm. Thank you to BTPTCO members who have stepped in to fill these open positions!

CLASSROOM REPRESENTATIVES NEEDED:
Do you like to be involved in what’s going on in your child’s classroom as well as in the school? Then, we NEED you! Each teacher needs a PTCO Classroom Representative for their classroom. Duties include attending PTCO General meetings (only 4 remaining this school year), assisting teachers with PTCO tasks, and informing and coordinating other parents in your child’s classroom. Please find your teacher’s name and sign up below on this link. Thank you to those who have already signed up! There are still teachers who need a representative.

BUFFALO TRAIL FUN RUN UPDATE
The Fun Run was a HUGE success thanks to all of your support. We still have about $3000 outstanding. Please get PLEDGE PAYMENTS turned in THIS WEEK. Positions Filled:

We will be collecting box tops as part of a classroom competition beginning September 10th until September 24th. Box Tops can be found on many of the items that you buy regularly, you just need to cut them out and send them to school. Please send in your box tops to help your child’s class win a “Triple P Party”--popcorn, popsicles, and punch! These box tops help our school earn money! You can print out the form by clicking on the link below.
EARNING For LEARNING
Don't forget to save your Southlands receipts. Buffalo Trail is now collecting your receipts to help our school earn money. It’s as simple as saving your receipts and sending them to school with your student! Our school is in competition with other schools in our area to win cash prizes for most receipt dollars turned in!

TREASURER NEEDED:

PTCO GENERAL MEETING
Please come to the Buffalo Trail PTCO Meeting tonight! September 8th, 6:30pm-8:30pm. Child care will be provided. There will be door prizes and all of the insider information you can handle. As a parent, teacher, and community organization we welcome your input and ideas about how we can make Buffalo Trail the best it can be.

Back to School Math Night is this Thursday starting at 5:30. There will be two sessions to accommodate families with multiple grade levels to visit. PTCO will also be there with a booth to sign up for volunteer opportunities. We are looking for classroom PTCO Representatives and event volunteers, so if you are interested, please stop by to sign up!
